4 Tips for Building Self Confidence

4 tips to help you feel better about yourself and build you self-confidence.

Let’s start off by saying that none of us are perfect.  Truth be told at one time or another we have had to build our self-confidence.  When we do lack self-confidence, I believe it’s because we concentrate on the negatives: stress, worry, jobs, money problems and relationship issues to name a few.  Concentrating on these areas drains our self-confidence rather than improving it.

Improving self-confidence is essential not only for your overall mental health but a person with good self-confidence could make more money, look and I believe feel better physically, and this helps you relax around other people.

Here are 4 tips that help build self-confidence:

1.    Start your morning in an Attitude of Gratitude.  No matter what day it is, you have something to be grateful for.   As I am getting out of bed, I think of 5 things I am grateful for.  Today’s list is sunshine, health & strength, good friends, my job, and my husband.
After that, I think of an example of each one.  For sunshine, I imagine a beautiful day at the beach with the sun beaming high in the sky.  I feel the warmth of the sun.  For health & strength, I think about the fact that I can move my legs and arms.  I can brush my teeth!  You get the picture.

2.    Change Your Thoughts
Talk to yourself. It sounds crazy but it works. For those who lack confidence sometimes we are filled with negative self-defeating thoughts.  Some of these thoughts come from what we see every day on television, radio, etc.  Give yourself some positive messages – I love my hair today.  I am an amazing person.  I am very good at my job.  I have an amazing business that is helping people.  Another good thing I personally do is spend time listening to positive things on You Tube or I listen to a great book while I’m driving.  Take control. Use your inner thoughts to talk to yourself in a positive manner, as often as you can.

3.    Look Your Best
When you feel as if you look good in your clothes it builds confidence and make you feel awesome!  You will be amazed at just how much more confidence you will have just looking your best.  "Every day is show time!"  Point out something you like about yourself.  We all have something that we love.   I love my eyes and my little nose!  Smile at yourself.

4.    Sit or Stand Correctly
How you stand sends out a message to the World, and in turn, back to you. This results in improving how you feel about yourself and will build self-confidence today and every day. There is scientific evidence that shows how posture affects our mood. Do not slouch. Slouching produces a down mood. By slouching you are telling the world and yourself it doesn't matter, you don't matter.  Standing tall and upright will lift your mood.  Pull back your shoulders and walk proud.

Can you think of others?
